Ear Candles
Legend: The practice of this ancient, mild natural therapy has been passed down to our times both by the peoples of Asia as well as by the North American Indians. It was through the Hopi Indians - a people characterized by its extensive knowledge of healing techniques and great spirituality - that the knowledge concerning the Ear Candles reached Europe.
From a purely physical point of view, one can distinguish between two temporal action phases. First of all, low pressure, which originates from the burning process (chimney effect) and leads to a perceptible pressure regulation of the sinus. Over 90% of the patients spontaneously describe a pressure-relieved, lighter feeling in the realm of ears and head as a primary effect.
Additional positive effects: The pressure flow carries concentrated vapor enriched with select herbal substances inwards. As a result, irritated zones are effectively protected. Moreover, secretion flow is stimulated and impurities or deposits are removed. Most of these are carried outwards, although some of them can also be found in the condensed candle wax residues.
During the burning process, the heat is pleasant and captivating for the patient. Almost all users subjectively described an intensive and harmonious relaxing and calming effect on the whole system. intensifies. The silver-foil lining reflects a gentle, soothing flow of heat inwards. Locally applied heat always has the effect of stimulating peripheral blood circulation which, in turn, strengthens the immunological defense system and enhances the cleansing lymph circulation. The heat phase likewise stimulates the reflex zones and the energy points within the area of application.
Manufacturing Process and Ingredients
Select extracts of honey, naturally grown linen fabrics and well-known Indian healing herbs in powder form - especially sage, St. John's Wart and chamomile - ensure constant, high quality.
Differences in color or length must be seen as a sign of craftsmanship and as a special feature of an all-natural product.
Only healing herbs that have been biologically grown are used.
Indications
- Irritations in the ears or sinus
- Soothing effect in cases of over-irritability and stress-related symptoms Noises in the ears (such as, for example, ringing in the ears)
- Energetic revitalization in cases of hearing impairments
- Pressure regulation in cases of headaches, migraines, sinusitis and rhinitis
- Circulatory disturbances of the ear
- Local activation of the lymph and the metabolic process
- Stimulation of the energy-flow circulation
Mode of Action
The mode of action of the ear candle therapy can be explained in that the stimuli applied take effect in exactly those zones of the ear which correspond to the lymphatic tonsillar ring and parts of our RES. These zones, which are situated deep in the external auditory canal, represent an area which is difficult to treat by means of acupressure of the ear. Owing to its anatomic proximity to the ear drum it can be treated either not at all or only inadequately by conventional methods.
The ear candles cover this area completely. Furthermore, the ear drum is included in the therapy and the area of exposure is extended via the ear drum to the whole middle ear. From here, the stimuli are transmitted via the bones of the middle ear (hammer, anvil, stirrup) to the areas of the semicircular canals, the cochlea, to the cortical organ and thus also influence the organs of equilibrium and the hearing cells. At the same time, the connection and exposure is created from the middle ear via the Eustachian tube to the pharyngeal space.
Ear candle therapy is indicated for interference fields in the area of the head and the lymphatic tonsillar ring. It is comparable to the neurotherapeutic elimination of interference at the pharyngeal tonsils and the retro molar zones.
The mode of action for burning the ear candles can be subdivided into three phases:
- Creeping phase - Under pressure on the ear drum, deposit of herbal condensate in the auditory canal, a drastically relaxing effect.
- Chimney phase - Changing pressure conditions - mild, warm, purifying effect.
- Intensive phase - Overpressure, strong thermally energetic effect.
In all three phases an energetic vitalisation of the acupuncture points and of the reflex zones takes place.
Application
In principle, both ears must receive therapy.
With the patient lying in a relaxed lateral position and the head lying so that the ear drum is exactly covered by the chimney effect.
Light the ear candle at the non-foil end and burn it down to the segment lined with tinfoil.
Press it into the external auditory canal gently but so that it seals. With the therapist sitting at the patient's head, the ear candle is fixed in the area of the sensitive tragus-antitragus and anthelix zones using the thumb and index finger while at the same time the area of the motoric lobulus zones is fixed with the tips of the middle fingers.
In this way an additional energetic vitalisation is achieved.
As the hollows of the hands - in the sense of an energetic force field lie over the patient's forehead and the back of his head, one can say that the complete hemisphere of the head being treated is flooded with energy.
The remainder of the ear candle is extinguished in a glass of water which is standing ready.
Range of Application
Ear candles can be used for all head ailments caused by disorders in the area of the lymphatic tonsillar ring, for sore throats, tonsilitis, disorders of the sinuses, beginning colds, flu, pressure in the head, pressure in the ears, ringing in the ears, poor hearing, lymphatic edema as well as poor resistance to infection in general.
Owing to their excellent relaxative effect, ear candles are extremely suitable for treating mental and vegetative disorders.
The ear candles unfold their greatest intensity if they are used after an ear acupressure.
After treatment, the patient should rest for at least 15 minutes.
Reactions which occur in many cases generally disappear rapidly and are an indication to the therapist of the patient's weak point.
At least three sittings at intervals of about 4 days are needed to eliminate the interference in the pharyngeal space.
Chronic ailments should be treated once a week for a longer period of time. A single treatment (provided it takes place at a sufficiently early stage) often suffices to nip a beginning cold in the bud.
